Lent is a 40-day season in the life of the church.
It is a time of prayer, reflection, repentance (turning to and facing God), and works of love. Prayer and compassionate engagement with the world are vital to Christian life. In doing so, we live the commandment to love and serve God and our neighbors as ourselves.
